It was even before the sun rose when the alarm went off shattering the pleasant silence in the small bedroom. The larger of the two boys curled around each other in the bed was the first to stir, rolling over and draping his arm across the other man’s shoulders pulling him closer.

Brrrriiinnnnngggg!

What an incessant sound, the bells of the alarm rang continuously until the shorter of the two men finally woke. Shrugging his partner’s arms off of him he rose to his knees. Reaching across the other body he shut off the alarm.

“Get up Tsubasa.” He growled, shoving at the other man’s shoulders.

“Noooo.” Attempting to curl into a body that was no longer there, he was shoved roughly onto the cold half of the bed. He looked around blinking, trying to make the world look less blurry. “What time is it?”

“Time to get up, come on.” Tackey put his arms over his head and stretched them, his shirt riding up to expose his tanned stomach.

“It’s too early.” He whined, trying to pull the blanket over his head, the other boy was already up and pulling on jeans over his boxers. Tsubasa pulled his knees to his chest and watched the blurry figure of the other man pulling his shirt over his head and pulling on another one.

“Get your lazy ass up.” Tackey sighed, sitting on the bed and pulling on a pair of socks. “We need to get to work.”

“Right.” He replied, sighing in resignation, uncurling his body he pulled the blanket around himself. Standing up and now fully dressed Tackey wondered out of their bedroom to brush his teeth.

The kitchen came to life as Tackey flicked the light switch, the massive ovens each made a quiet roar when he began to heat them up. Next he moved to the other massive bread machine, slowly he began to fill it with ingredients. When he was done he turned around to find Tsubasa working at the other station mixing mass amounts of pastry flour into a large bowl.

Sweet T&T Bakery, it was a bit of a novelty among young girls. They would flock there in the mornings to buy breakfast bun, or a treat to go with their lunches. The best part was not of course the goods, but the boys that ran the store before school started.

Takiazwa Hideki was the shorter of the two; with a well toned body and a quick smile he was an easy favourite. He let his hair grow long, and bleached it constantly to keep its almost golden glow. Sneakers and jeans kind of guy, he was fond of shirts that showed off the well-worked muscles in his arms, jeans that hugged his perfect ass. He would often be found leaning on his forearms over the counter smiling and chatting with the girls who came in to buy pastry.

Tsubasa Imai was taller then Tackey and much thinner, with short-cropped black hair and thick-rimmed black glasses. He liked his pants tight and avoided jeans where possible. His shirts were usually bright coloured and matched his collection of school bags. Tsubasa lived and breathed for his fashion magazines and wasn’t shy about his usually bright outfits. His confidence and almost shy smile attracted his own share of the patrons of their small store.

The truth behind the almost innocent looking venue was a little more bizarre, almost as much as their small shared apartment above the bakery. The two of them at had one point been normal if not a little under funded university students. Along came Johnny, and his dog Pi-chan, a rich, and vaguely eccentric man. Together the two of them had saved the dog from being stuck in a tree –never once wondering how the small dog had ended up there.

He offered to pay for their food, clothing and board, the only hitch, being they needed to work in his bakery. So they woke up early and made pastries, went to school and came back for the late evening shift.

They swapped jobs with two other boys, working on the other boy’s days off, and worked opposite shifts.

“So I said to Kame, ‘oh no you don’t that’s MINE’” Jin said loudly flailing his arms in the air. He was sitting on the counter while Tsubasa was empting the till into the safe behind the counter. Tackey was sweeping the floor; he gave Jin a strange look.

“You’re telling me Kame tried to steal your boyfriend?” Jin made a pouting face and nodded dejectedly.

“Yeah, I mean he’s even going out with Ueda too! He just wanted him ‘cause my boyfriend is way cuter.”

“You’re going out with who again?” Tackey asked. Jin crossed his arms and looked dejected.

“I told you already. Nakamaru.”

“You can’t expect me to keep track of these things can you?” The look on Jin’s face said ‘Yes.’ So instead of acknowledging that he distracted Jin by reminding him about what he was talking about. “So Kame was trying to sleep with Maru?”

“That’s what I said!” Tsubasa rolled his eyes at the flailing man.

“I’m done, I’m going upstairs to do some home work.” With that Tsubasa left the other man with the rest of the cleaning. Jin watched his ass in those tight pants as the older man walked through the door.

“Why do I get the feeling he doesn’t like me?”

“…” Choosing to ignore that question Tackey bent over to collect the dirt in a pan.

“Anyways, what should I do about Kame?”

“Next time you see him, slap him. Or better yet, sleep with Ueda.” Jin seemed to be thinking about that one, chewing on his full bottom lip.

“I’ll do that. Hey wanna go drinking?” Tackey snorted.

“Do you even need to ask?”

He was a little drunk; it took him three tries and all five keys on his key ring to get into the small bakery. Locking the door behind him he took off his shoes, then giggled when he realized he didn’t need to. Someone hit the light and Tackey winced covering his eyes.

“Oh, it’s just you.”

“Thanks.” Tackey looked up into the face of his neighbour. Koyama Keiichiro was a tall boy –Tackey inherently hated all boys taller then him- with perfectly almond shaped eyes and golden hair. Koyama worked the day shifts, and was probably just coming home now as well- he would often disappear for the evenings.

“Why did you take your shoes off?” Koyama asked looking at Tackey strangely, eyes flicking from his socked feet to his face.

“Because.” Tackey reasoned- he didn’t need to tell the taller boy anything.

“Okay.” Koyama shrugged, “Hurry up so I can close the lights.” Tackey made a face at him but walked over to where he was anyways. Koyama turned off the lights and vanished through the side exit, the stairs up to the second floor apartments. Maybe him and Jin had a little too much to drink because he swayed to the side suddenly and Koyama had to catch him with surprisingly strong arms.

“You smell like cookies.” Tackey said, face pressed into Koyama’s lean chest.

“No shit.” Koyama sighed, pushing Tackey off him. Tugging on the other man’s clothing the taller of the two managed to get them all the way up the stairs. Koyama’s door was to the left and Tackey’s to the right so he untangled himself from the other man.

“Keii?” The left door opened and the short black haired man looked out, Koyama looked up and a shy smile spread over his tanned face.

“I didn’t know you were home already Ryo.” Tackey wanted to gag at the sudden shy tone of voice.

“Waiting for you.” He stepped out, but only far enough to grab Koyama’s hand tugging the tall boy through the doorway. Tackey watched them for a moment frowning at the pair- he was trying to remember which key opened his front door.

It was the third one. Throwing his shoes inside he looked at Tsubasa; his books had all but taken over the table, calculus conquering the south, and biology encompassing most of the rest. His laptop was to his left, and his notebook in front of him. The tell-tale white cord of his ipod connecting his ears to the rest of the world. He looked up when Tackey opened the door but ignored him from then on.

“You know. Koyama and Ryo are sleeping with each other.” He flopped down on the floor across from Tsubasa. The taller man took out his headphones and set them on the table.

“Yeah so what?”

“Why aren’t we sleeping with each other then?” One fine eyebrow shot up at that and Tsubasa gave him a level look.

“Because I don’t like you.”

“Why not?”

“You’re an alcoholic. And you smell like booze.” Tackey seemed to be lost in thought about that one.

“So if I showered would you have sex with me?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“I live with you, I work with you, I go to school with you. I am not going to fuck you too.”

“They’re doing it.” Tackey all but whined, he paused for a moment. “You wouldn’t fuck me, I’d fuck you.”

“If you say so.” Tsubasa shrugged, slipping his headphones back on. Tackey was left glaring at the other but he was being ignored again. Standing on relatively stable legs he walked into the small kitchen to pour himself a glass of water. Walking back into the living room he leaned on the frame and looked at Tsubasa. He was being ignored again. Finishing his glass quickly he left the cup on the counter, he strode right up to Tsubasa, the other obviously purposely not turning to him.

Frowning he leaned over, cupping the back of the other boy’s head and for a moment loosing himself in the feeling of short black hair sliding through his fingers. Then he was pressing his lips against the other’s and it felt divine. Hands came up to his shoulders, then they shoved with surprising strength and he fell back landing on his ass.

“Dammit Tackey, fuck off.” Tsubasa wiped at his mouth with the back of his hand. “Shower before you come to bed, you smell like a street bum.” With that Tsubasa strode away, the sound of a door slamming shook the building.

“Prissy bitch.” Tackey muttered.

I like it when everyone is gay. And I like the couples and that Tsubasa rejects Tackey. Nice beginning.
