Sep. 6th, 2005 06:08 pmA brain walks into a bar and says, "I'll have a pint of beer please."
The barman looks at him and says "Sorry, I can't serve you."
"Why not?" askes the brain.
"You're already out of your head."
Die woke up with a smile on his face and a pretty boy sleeping on his chest. It was a wonderful beginning to the day; last night played though his mind and he let out a contented sigh.
Die woke feeling refreshed, feeling happy with the world. Kaoru woke feeling sore.
“Good morning sunshine,” Die teased, Kaoru narrowed his sleepy eyes at him, squinting against the sun that shone at Die’s back.
“MMmfff,” Kaoru answered sleepily, he let his head fall back on Die’s chest his body curling slightly.
“Morning person?” Die asked, he was pinched on the side for his troubles,
“Shut up and go back to sleep,” Kaoru mumbled, his entire body felt sore, and he would have been perfectly content to just lay there but Die was fidgeting slightly.
“But the sun is up and the birds are singing,” Die said prodding on one pale side,
“Fuck the birds.” Kaoru mumbled, Kaoru sounded amazingly like Kyo in the morning but a little more comprehendible.
“I’d rather fuck you again,” Die grinned when Kaoru froze against him,
“Don’t you dare.” Kaoru hissed, “I hurt enough right now,”
“I won’t but I do need to pee,” Die said, he felt a small pang on guilt for causing the other pain, but at the same time that was totally blown away by the pride of having one of the best lays in his short life. Kaoru didn’t let go for a minute, then he groaned and rolled over wincing slightly he threw his hands over his face and proceeded to try and go back to sleep. Die chucked to himself before he crawled out of bed.
Ten minutes later found Die in his boxers frying some of the leftover Chinese food for breakfast, Kaoru still hadn’t moved. Humming to himself he turned on the radio and danced around the kitchen to some pop song that Shinya would have liked. There was a knock on his door and without thinking Die went and opened it.
“Good morning,” Auntie looked Die up and down, from the top of his messy hair, past the after-sex bright eyes, lips stretched into a wide goofy grin, shirtless, and most of all the scent of cooking Chinese food filled the apartment.
“Morning Auntie!” Die grinned, and the old lady rolled her eyes at him,
“Where is she….he.” Auntie tried to look past him, and Die only laughed,
“Sleeping,” Die shrugged, and Auntie let out a small laugh,
“You burning something Die?” She asked, sniffing the air; his eyes widened,
“Ahh!” Die turned quickly and rushed back into the kitchen to save his food. Auntie clicked her tongue and walked into the apartment closing the door behind her, shrewd eyes assessed the pair of pants folded neatly on the couch, the blankets left there in a hurry. Looking down the hall Die’s, bedroom door was open but she couldn’t see anything, outside the room thrown carelessly on the floor there were two white shirts. She shook her head, reckless youth.
Die was running around the kitchen trying to save his cooking, there was a little bit of rice that had gotten stuck to his face, Auntie clicked her tongue again, leaving the bag of food she had brought to Die; she walked past him,
“You’re going about this all wrong,” Die stepped back to let the master work, moving quickly and silently she disposed of the burnt remains of Die’s attempted breakfast.
“Teach me master,” Die muttered watching as Auntie began to work her magic on the food, and soon the kitchen was filled with the smell of *good* food. This of course drew out the Kaoru. Die could hear bare feet padding along the floor and grinned to himself, leaving the kitchen he met the sleepy other in the living room.
Kaoru wore his ‘shocker’ shirt and nothing more, it was just long enough to cover him –Die had thrown his boxers somewhere and Kaoru really was to tired and sore to look for them. He rubbed his eyes tiredly,
“Die what smells so good,” Kaoru asked his tired brain not processing much but his stomach’s desperate search for food.
“Breakfast,” Die said with a grin, he looped his arms around the smaller man’s waist and hugged him tightly, figured he might as well give Auntie a little show as a way of thank you.
“Smells heavenly,” Kaoru murmured against Die’s neck as he kissed the skin there softly, Die held the other tighter and kissed his nose tenderly,
“It does.”
Indeed Auntie was watching them discreetly from the kitchen doorway, she repressed the urge to coo at the two, they looked to perfect together, damn that Daisuke; he knew her to well.
“What’s for breakfast?” Kaoru asked; he was looking adoringly up at the red haired man, who knew Die could cook?
“I don’t quite know, why don’t you ask Auntie?” Die said snickering; Kaoru froze. “Nee Auntie what’s for breakfast?” Die called over his shoulder, the old woman snickered; Kaoru turned eight shades of red and darted out of Die’s grasp and down the hall. Die chucked to himself and made his way back into the kitchen,
“That wasn’t very nice Daisuke,” she chided, moving the food from the frying pans to plates; out of the corner of her eyes she saw Kaoru sneak into the living room –now wearing a pair of black boxers- to grab the pair of pants off the couch; she decided to pretend not to notice; the poor boy must have been through a lot already.
Kaoru wasn’t sure if there had been another more singularly embarrassing moment in his life –minus the pants incident in grade two- if there was he couldn’t remember it. His face was flaming, and even after he was dressed he was hesitant to go back out there, but his glasses were on the small table; he needed those –therefore he couldn’t try and jump out the window. Taking a deep breath he went out to join them for breakfast.
~~
Toshiya was wiggling his fingers in front of Miyu’s face; the dog was looking at him oddly.
“So Shinya…” Toshiya asked pleasantly; the boy in question was looking through his closet for a shirt that Toshiya had asked to borrow –and they wondered where Kyo got his crazy notions.
“Yeah?” came the muffled call from inside the large wardrobe, Miyu looked at them both oddly now.
“You wanna go for a walk in the park tonight?” Toshiya asked casually, he let his long fingers glide over Miyu’s blond fur –he always wondered if Shinya dyed his dog to match him, or he dyed to match the dog…
“Why?” Shinya asked, where the hell was that damned shirt? He dug a little further back, watching in amusement as his fashion trends changed the closer to the back of his large closet he got.
“It’s supposed to be a full moon tonight and I have the night off,” Toshiya shrugged casually, fully aware that Shinya couldn’t see him. He grinned at Miyu, the dog only blinked back looking cute.
Miyu could understand most of what they were saying, but as it didn’t include food or anything relating to food or her she really didn’t care. She found it rather alarming and amusing to watch her master slowly disappear into his closet. It was funny to watch Toshiya make funny faces at her, if only she could laugh, so she just settled on making a small yipping noise. She did catch the word 'walk', so she hoped that Shinya was about to take her somewhere, as long as it didn’t involve dressing up it was all fine with her.
“Okay, I don’t have anything to do tonight, I’ll go,” Shinya shrugged, “I’m sorry Toshiya I can’t seem to find it…” Shinya looked lost in thought for a moment. “…Toshiya…” he said angrily, Toshiya looked up confused.
“Yes Shin-chan?” He asked meekly, that look didn’t look too healthy, picking up the small dog Toshiya decided that Shinya wouldn’t hurt him if he were holding Miyu.
“I leant you that shirt last month,” Shinya glared at the large waste of time sitting in his bed holding his dog; he could have been doing something productive with his life instead he was looking for a shirt that Toshiya had already borrowed from him!
“...Oops, I’m sorry Shinya, I forgot,” Toshiya hugged the small dog closer to him, “protect me he whispered in the dogs ear,”
Miyu would have rolled her eyes if she possessed such human gestures, Toshiya always knew how to get her master angry. It looked like it was up to her to calm her master down this time, Miyu made a small yipping noise to let Toshiya know that she was indeed going to save him. Being pressed against Toshiya’s smooth cheek she began to lick it happily, looking as cute as her small body and big eyes could make her.
Shinya turned to a puddle of goo, Miyu looked so cute licking Toshiya and if Miyu liked Toshiya; well he couldn’t be that bad.
“Thanks girl,” Toshiya whispered to the small dog Miyu yipped happily, Toshiya held the dog out for Shinya to hug. Toshiya looked down at his watch, he was running a little behind schedule, he had other parts of his plan to implement. “I’ll see you tonight then Shin-chan?” Toshiya asked to man who had gone into full ‘cuddle-my-dog’ mode.
“Yeah, see you then,” Shinya nodded absently, Toshiya grinned,
“21 hours then?” Toshiya asked, praying that his plans would go down without a hitch, Shinya nodded
“Yeah, sounds great,” Shinya smiled at him and Toshiya couldn’t help but smile back, Shinya looked so pretty when he smiled –though he rarely did- and with the help from Toshiya’s great plan he would be smiling more often.
“Ja ne,” Toshiya said as he got up to leave the house, once outside he leaned against the bus stop and took out his cell phone. Moving his sailor moon cell phone strap out of the way he flipped open his life line and looked though his impressive list of phone numbers. “Die, Die, Die…that’s under ‘D’,” Toshiya muttered to himself trying to figure out the way his numbers were organized.
Die picked up after the third ring, he’d been doing the homework that he never did get to do last night when the phone started ringing. Die sighed and picked up the phone,
“If this is Kyo I’m going to beat you,” Die hissed into the phone, the other had called him no less then four times in the past hour since he’d let it slip that he had managed to get Kaoru in his bed ‘not the couch?’ Kyo had asked. Wanting to keep all the juicy details to himself –for a little while at least- he’d refused all four times to tell the midget man anything.
“Hiya, Die,” Toshiya chirped ignoring the red haired man’s odd greeting.
“Oh hey Toshi,” Die said, his tone changing considerably,
“You know what!” Toshiya said excitedly, and Die smiled he could imagine Toshiya beaming into the phone.
“What?” Die took the bait, his eyes straying from the English text in front of him.
“Tonight is going to be a full moon, with no clouds, wanna go for a walk in the park?” Toshiya asked, he was strumming with energy, it felt so good to be doing his friends good; and he felt like a super secret spy getting things all together.
“Sounds good,” Die shrugged, he had nothing to do tonight, a moonlit walk that sounded so romantic, Kaoru would love it; to bad the other had to work tonight. “When should I meet you?”
“21 hours by the big fountain,” Toshiya nodded into the phone,
“Uh-huh, I’ll see you there,” Toshiya flipped his cell phone closed with a self satisfied smirk, by the end of the night Shinya and Die would be together he would see of that.
Out of the corner of his eye Toshiya caught a glimpse of pink hair; there was only one person he knew who pulled off that shade of pink so nicely,
“KAO~RU!” Toshiya screamed, causing the man random man waiting for the bus beside him to visibly twitch, Kaoru looked around; it was like god was trying to talk to him! Who knew god had such an annoying voice? “Kaoru wait for me!”
A woman’s husband comes home hammered every night and she always yells at him before going to bed alone.
One day she decides to try some reverse psychology. When her husband staggers in that night, she’s waiting for him in her best lingerie. She sits him in an armchair and gives him a backrub.
“It’s getting late, big boy,” she says after a few minutes. “Why don’t we go upstairs to bed.”
“We might as well,” slurs the husband. “I’m going to be in trouble when I get home, anyway.”
“Kaoru!” Toshiya smiled as he grabbed the older man’s arm and hung off of him, Kaoru gave him a small secretive smile.
“Good afternoon Toshiya,” Kaoru figured that even if he was sore and tired he could put up with Toshiya for a little while at least, after all Toshiya was friends with Die and Die was equivalent with goodness in his mind at that moment.
“You working tonight?” Toshiya asked, maybe he could get his Yoshiki and Kaoru plans underway, Toshiya wondered if he could handle it, juggling two super secret plots at once…
“Yeah,” Kaoru shrugged, Toshiya seemed to have fallen in step beside him and while it didn’t bother him too much at the moment he wondered if Toshiya really was intent on going to the store with him.
“Good, good…” Toshiya was lost in thought and Kaoru was struck silent by the revelation that Toshiya *thought*.
“Toshiya!” A call sounded from up ahead and Toshiya stopped looking for the speaker, Kaoru was tempted to keep walking but figured he was in a good enough mood to wait.
“Aiji?” Toshiya asked puzzled, the other man smiled at him sadly,
“Yeah, …how are you?” Aiji asked looking at his feet,
“I’m good how are you?” Toshiya frowned slightly, it had been a long time since he’d seen or heard from Aiji; since him and Die broke up that is.
“I’m …better,” Aiji said shrugging a bit, now one must note that Kaoru isn’t always the brightest crayon in the box but he could tell that this conversation was a little strained; okay more then a little strained.
“I’m glad to hear that,” Toshiya glanced at the man beside him; Kaoru was staring blankly at a stand across the street that sold fruits. “What are you doing here…”
“I’m here to see Die.” Aiji said, and if Toshiya hadn’t been staring puzzled at the man in front of him he would have seen Kaoru’s attention snap back into conversation faster then it ever had before.
“Die? But I thought you two…”
“We are…” Aiji sighed, “I miss him though, actually since you’re here…” Aiji trailed off.
“What is it?” Toshiya asked, Kaoru was staring at this man; he was pretty, and even looking sad he was –in Kaoru’s opinion- prettier then Kaoru could ever be.
“Well I was going though some old stuff, and I have some stuff I was going to give back to Die.” Aiji produced the items, all neatly wrapped in a shirt that must have also belonged to Die. “Now you can give it to him,” Aiji gave the wrapped package to Toshiya.
“Are you sure you wouldn’t rather do it yourself?” Toshiya asked, concern for his friend outliving the slight possibility that Aiji could ruin his plans.
“I’m sure…I miss him and I don’t want to see him.” He said firmly, but he looked so sad, Toshiya smiled weakly, quickly handing the package to a startled Kaoru he hugged his friend.
Kaoru stood there not knowing what to say or do; this was one of those sticky emotional messes that he would much rather not get involved in. Let Toshiya handle the mushy stuff, but at the same time he wanted to know more. From what he had gathered this man, Aiji was it –he was bad with names- had meant something to Die; he wanted to know what. He was still thinking about that as Toshiya said his goodbyes and they were left alone again,
“Who was that?” Kaoru asked, he was looking at the bundle of fabric in his hands.
“Why don’t we get a coffee and I’ll tell you all about it!” Toshiya lit up at the chance to have a conversation with the older man that he himself hadn’t initiated.
“Fine,” About five minutes found them in a little café drinking iced coffees, Toshiya was babbling inanely and Kaoru was staring into the depths of his cup.
“Well anyways Shinya had this really nice black shirt that I really liked and-“
“So, who was that?” Kaoru asked cutting the taller man off and surprising himself at the same time, Toshiya tilted his head to the side in confusion before he remembered; he smiled sadly.
“His name is Aiji,” Kaoru wanted to hiss, duh he knew that; he wasn’t stupid! “He used to go out with Die,”
‘Don’t like him,’ Kaoru thought instantly before he chided himself ‘used to’ being as he didn’t anymore, a little reassured he paid attention to Toshiya again.
“They had a bad break up,” Toshiya shrugged; Kaoru was silent; but wasn’t he always? Toshiya continued on oblivious that behind Kaoru’s face his thoughts were on a wild roller coaster ride. “Die’s good at that; Aiji was the latest though,” Toshiya frowned, what if Die hurt Shinya? No, he knew that wouldn’t happen all that Die needed was to find the right boy and Toshiya was sure that Shinya would be perfect for the spot of ‘the one’.
“Good at what?” Kaoru was suspicious, elated, and jealous all at the same time. He was suspicious that Die would be the type who liked to sleep around –that being the first fear that popped into his head when thinking about bad break ups, to many romances. He was elated that Die had slept with him and saved him when the last boy he’d gone out with had been that pretty. And he was jealous that the last boy that Die had dated was so pretty.
“Bad break ups,” Toshiya shrugged, and they called him a slut…
“What do you mean?” Kaoru was hanging on Toshiya’s every word; Toshiya was just happy that he was having a normal civil conversation with Kaoru- he even was looking interested. Maybe Toshiya hadn’t had his morning coffee, maybe he really was slow, or maybe he just didn’t want to see Kaoru’s over interest in Die. Maybe he just went against his better judgement and believed that Kaoru really was fond of gossip deep deep down.
“He likes people to easily,” Toshiya looked confused for a moment, that wasn’t what he meant to say, he added gestures to his speech trying to get Kaoru to understand him, “He sees people,” Toshiya emphasised this with a shrug, “he likes them,” Toshiya batted his eyelashes and put his hands on either side of his face in a mock demure way. “Then he fucks them,” Toshiya made an obscene gesture with his long fingers, Kaoru grimaced, “then he falls in lust with someone else soon after,” Toshiya made a dramatic swoon, “Bad break up, end of story.” Toshiya folded his hands on his lap and Kaoru stared blankly at him.
‘Did he ever rescue any of them heroically first?’ Kaoru wanted to ask but decided to keep his mouth shut. He was scared to ask any questions; he didn’t want any of his suspicions confirmed.
Boy meets boy. Boy likes boy. Boy fucks boy. Boy leaves boy.
Die meets Kaoru. Die likes Kaoru. Die fucks Kaoru. Die leaves Kaoru?
Kaoru didn’t want Die to leave him ‘I’m not going to leave you after tonight, can we have sex now please?’ isn’t that what Die had said, or at least something similar? But then again it was after tonight, but how long was after, how long till Die wanted something else, how long till Die wanted someone prettier. Kaoru stared at his melting treat –let it be said never give a spacey Kaoru something that can melt- and thinking about Die and how in love -LIKE! His rational mind screamed, there couldn’t be love only after one night- he was already. Now he knew why Aiji had looked so sad, Die was easy to fall for, and by the look of the smiling faces in the picture that could be seen through the thin material of the shirt, Die had been in love with Aiji too.
“Kaoru?” Toshiya asked, he was used to the other being lost in thought but his intense stare was unsettling, “are you going to drink that Kaoru?”
“Hm?” Kaoru looked at Toshiya but looked right though him, his almost black eyes landed on the iced coffee but he only shook his head sadly, “No, I really don’t need any caffeine, I need to umm… go home and rest, you know work and all.” Who needed the shopping he was planning on doing anyways, suddenly he didn’t feel hungry, Kaoru stood gracefully, and smiled at Toshiya, “You can have it.”
“Sweet!” Toshiya smiled happily for the older man, Kaoru nodded and left, completely unaware of the confused and concerned eyes on his back.
~~
Kaoru looked at his reflection carefully, maybe he would go see Die later tonight, no he got off work to late; would Die come and see him? His reflection frowned back, he wanted to forget all of what Toshiya had told him, he wanted to forget it all and bask in the post really-good-sex bliss again –carefully leaving out the part about him being really sore. Deciding that the only way to make sure that Die liked him would be to make sure that he looked really pretty. His reflection nodded to him and he smiled a bit.
Kaoru spent the next twenty minutes making sure his make-up looked nice and that his hair was done perfectly. He wore a black button up shirt, that had seams done in neon green and pink, and a simple black pleated skirt over fishnet tights; if Toshiya could dress like that so could he!
When Kaoru got to the bar he found Yoshiki sitting outside of it at one of the tables, looking at his watch he was about ten minutes early.
“Yoshiki?” Kaoru asked, the other looked at him, eyes trailing up thin legs and over his entire frame, Kaoru flushed sweetly.
“You look wonderful tonight,” Yoshiki commented, and Kaoru smiled back ‘DieDieDieDie’ his mind chanted to remind him that he did do this for Die, not Yoshiki.
“Thank you Yoshiki,” ‘DieDieDie’ “Should I getting things ready?” Kaoru asked, normally Yoshiki would be waiting for him inside to give any notices.
“No.” Yoshiki took a long sip of his drink; Kaoru frowned. “It’s not open tonight,”
“Why not?” Kaoru asked, Yoshiki was looking at him again; without the other wearing sunglasses he could watch as Yoshiki visually ate him up. ‘DieDieDieDieDie’
“Some else borrowed it from me tonight,” Yoshiki smiled mysteriously, “Have fun tonight, you’re getting paid for it.” Yoshiki laughed and Kaoru smiled,
“You can borrow a bar?” He asked incredulously,
“You can do anything if you’re Gackt,” Yoshiki shrugged liquidly again and Kaoru nodded at him, “seriously now, you go and have fun,” Yoshiki looked like a chiding father and Kaoru smiled fondly, “I need to stay here so I can lock up when he’s done,” Yoshiki did not like that idea, but Gackt was a friend and he was getting paid to loan the bar; and this was for You.
“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then Yoshiki,” Kaoru bowed, “But I don’t really have anything to do tonight…”
“Dressed like that, you could do anything,” Yoshiki winked and Kaoru blushed, “It’s a full moon why don’t you take a walk in the park before you go tease some poor man?” Kaoru looked up in the sky, indeed the moon was full and round, it glowed in the sky Kaoru smiled.
“I think I’ll do that.”
A man walks into a bar with a giraffe and they proceed to get blitzed. The giraffe drinks so much it passes out on the floor. The man gets up and heads for the door to leave when the bartender yells, "Hey! You can't leave that lyin' there!" The drunk replies, "That's not a lion! It's a giraffe."
Die pulled his hat over his head quickly and strolled out his door, it was almost time to meet Toshiya, maybe after he would go and see Kaoru? Would Kaoru think he was an obsessive stalker boyfriend if he went there to see him, would Kaoru be happy to see him? Die snickered he could imagine Kaoru looking bored; trying to listen to some person’s sob story then he would walk in and like a shining ray of light Kaoru’s face would light up in a smile.
The park wasn’t far from Die’s house, the cool air felt nice against his skin, the light jacket he wore kept the chill off. Like promised the moon was round and full; it hung low in the sky beautifully. All in all Die was in an excellent mood.
~~
Shinya smiled as he clipped the long leash onto Miyu’s collar, “There all ready to go girl?” Shinya asked softly, his voice echoing in the empty house, Miyu barked back standing on short hind legs to put in paws on her master in a little doggie hug. “You’re so cute!” Shinya left the apartment with a smile. After about a block he realized that he should have worn a jacket, it was chilly out; cursing softly he wrapped his arms around himself rubbing his arms for warm while Miyu trotted ahead of him, short legs moving fast to keep ahead of her master.
Miyu could smell it in the air, something was different, was it the full moon? Miyu looked up at it, then back at her master, there was something in the air, a certain electricity; something was going to happen and she could feel the curiosity well in her, what was it? Who ever said only cats were curious?
~~
Toshiya sighed and shifted his weight to his other foot, he was cold, scratch that he was really cold and his feet were falling asleep. Toshiya was crouching in some bushes near the fountain waiting for his two friends to arrive. Toshiya shivered, where were they? It was getting late; and he was so cold, couldn’t they hurry up and fall in love, he didn’t want to have to cut off any of his toes…
There was a rustling behind him and Toshiya stifled a scream, here he was crouching in the bushes like a pervert but he didn’t want to meet a real pervert or worse yet a werewolf. Kyo had told him once that werewolves liked this park and it WAS a full moon. Shinya told him that werewolves didn’t exist but there was something in Kyo’s voice that made Toshiya wonder… Toshiya held perfectly still waiting and hopping that whatever it was that was there wouldn’t eat him…
~~
Kaoru wandered through some of the paths in the park absently, he was still on the outskirts, but planned on moving in closer to the middle. Kaoru had never seen the park at night, everything looked so different then when it was all lit up with the sun. The trees looked bigger and more sinister, the paths looked like they were made of moon light; Kaoru smiled he loved the look of it. So he continued to wander aimlessly; the beauty of the place enthralled him. Wandering around a dark park in a skirt he hoped he didn’t run into any perverts, running into Die would be okay though; he didn’t mind the Die kind of perverts…Kaoru giggled softly to himself.
~~
Somewhere not so far away Kyo rolled over in his sleep.
~~
Shinya’s fingers felt like ice by the time he found his way to the fountain in the dark. There was nobody there so he sat down on the rim of the fountain and lifted Miyu into his arms, the small dog licked him and squirmed. Shinya hugged his dog tight, she was so warm…so soft and warm would Miyu make a good pair of mittens? Shinya winced at the thought, that was defiantly not something he would not normally think, that was like a Kyo thought…
Toshiya had a perfect view of Shinya sitting there all alone and looking cold, Toshiya could sympathize; it was rather chilly and the ground he was crouching on was like ice. If he didn’t want to break his cover he would have whined about it already. But the mission must be stuck to even if his feet had just fallen asleep.
Die strolled casually up to the fountain, he had bought a small carton of banana milk along the way, looking at his watch he was a little late shrugging he noticed figure sitting on the edge of the fountain. It didn’t look like Toshiya this was where he was supposed to meet right? As he got closer the figure stood up and he smiled; it was Shinya.
Shinya’s heart skipped a beat when Die smiled at him, the other was practically glowing in the moon light and with that smile on he looked like an angel, Shinya could feel a slight heat rise to his cheeks but willed it down. Setting Miyu back on the ground he smiled slightly back at Die.
“Hey, I didn’t know you were coming too,” Die said, he was right in front of Shinya now; he other shrugged lightly, before wrapping himself in his arms again, it was rather cold.
“Toshiya didn’t tell me he invited you either,” ‘Cold Cold Cold, Die looks so nice…’
“Where is Toshiya?” Die said looking around, he kind of imagined at Toshiya would pop up at the mention of his name or try and jump out of the bushes to scare them or something; but what would Toshiya be doing in the bushes? He wouldn’t go anywhere near anything that could get him dirty.
“I don’t know he’s normally on time,” Shinya frowned for a moment a slight twinge of concern for his friend welling up inside of him. “Maybe he got hit by a bus or something…”
“Nahh,” Die waved his hands in a dismissive gesture, “The busses wouldn’t hit him…” Shinya laughed at Die and the other smiled,
‘And why not!’ Toshiya wanted to shriek but managed to keep it to himself, he glared at Die from the safety of his bushes.
“Maybe he just couldn’t find a skirt to match his shirt, or messed up his make-up by accident and is now freaking in front of the mirror,” Die grinned and Shinya actually laughed; he could see Toshiya running around trying to find his make-up remover and stressing about being late.
“Probably,” Shinya snorted,
Toshiya was seething now, is that what they thought of him, well sorry for ever trying to make them happy, Toshiya pouted angrily. Besides he never screwed up his make-up!!
“Cold?” Die asked –it was clear that the other man was shivering but he had just caught onto this now.
“Yeah, I should have brought a jacket,” Shinya sighed, he was normally always prepared for anything, anything but cold weather in the summer…
“Here,” Die shrugged out of his jacket and quickly handed it over to the other man, Shinya blushed slightly; ducking his head so that Die wouldn’t notice. He didn’t have to worry, Die was busy wondering about the odd weather, it had been so hot yesterday…
“…Thank you,” Shinya’s face grew hotter, the material was still warm with Die’s heat and it smelled like the older man.
Toshiya forgot about being mad and had to resist the urge to coo at the scene, he wanted a boyfriend who would risk the cold to give him a jacket…no actually he just wanted the jacket right now; Shinya was right it was cold.
Nearby someone else was rather cold, Kaoru shivered, had it been this cold when he left? He couldn’t remember; he’d been so intent on impressing Die… What did he get for it? Cold legs, but the moon really did look pretty, almost pretty enough for him to forget that skirts were for when it was hot and he was loosing feeling in his fingers. Why was it that when it was cold in the summer it always felt colder? Pondering such things he kept walking he figured that he would find the other end of the park soon, he would decided what to do from there.
Across town again Kyo twitched in his sleep as eight furry feet ran over his back.
Miyu watched as a heavy silence fell over her master and Die, the tension in the air had just picked up and Miyu was watching intently. This is what her master had been waiting for she knew it. She knew from some of her master’s rants that this was what he would call the ‘perfect romantic moment’ but something was missing. Miyu looked at them, Shinya looking nervous and Die looking…distracted, this little mess wasn’t going to fix itself. Wracking her little doggie brain she thought of a plan, she’d seen it in a movie that Shinya had watched and she hoped that it would work.
‘This is for you master,’ Miyu thought, ‘and for the gourmet dog chow you bought me last week!’ With that final heroic thought Miyu put her plan in action.
Toshiya watched with annoyance as Shinya looked away nervously and Die didn’t do anything; he wanted to yell at them, Shinya to get some courage and Die to get a brain. He’d never seen anything so painfully awkward in his entire life; it was killing him. He didn’t plan all this, didn’t get his pants dirty crouching in some mud, didn’t freeze his ass off so that they could stand there an do nothing. That’s when Toshiya noticed some movement, what was Miyu doing? The small white dog seemed to have gotten bored an was walking; ‘don’t ruin it Miyu!’ Toshiya wanted to yell.
Kaoru sighed, he was lost, so very lost, this looked like the same trail he had been on only moments before –indeed it was, as the park wasn’t all that big in reality- and he was getting colder all he wanted was to get out of here. Kaoru sighed and decided to turn left; after all he had read somewhere that people automatically turn in the direction of the hand they write with, so far that hadn’t gotten him anywhere. So turning left he wandered down a different path. Hopefully this would bring him out of the park, maybe he would stop at a noodle cart, and he was getting colder and wanted somewhere to warm up. Didn’t Die live near the park? He could warm up there, actually things could get quite hot there, Kaoru’s cheeks flushed with the thought.
Shinya was looking at the big round moon, he was about to say something about Toshiya being really late when he felt something tighten around his knees, he could feel himself tipping towards Die. At the same time Die felt something pushing the back of his legs, a tug around his calves forcing him to step closer to Shinya. Die’s arms shot out to stop Shinya from falling instinctively –as Die was getting quite good at catching people by this point- his strong arms wrapped around Shinya while Shinya clung to him for balance, neither could move apart as there was a leash wrapped around both sets of legs.
“Die!” Shinya cried suddenly, being as tall as the other men he found himself pressed against the other man, faces inches apart, his cheeks bloomed in a blush, in his head he thanked Miyu softly.
In the bushes Toshiya watched as Miyu pulled a trick a la 101 Dalmatians style and silently applauded the small animal, Miyu was proving to be a great partner in crime, maybe the dog could help Kaoru and Yoshiki?
Miyu craned her head to look up at her master with a doggie smile on her face; she felt that she had done a great job. Now there was no way that her master could screw this up.
Die was shocked for a moment Shinya was small in his arms –not as slim as Kaoru his mind pointed out automatically- and he felt a shock travel though him, his mind trying to focus on Kaoru. Trying and failed, Shinya’s eyes fluttered closed his mouth closing in for a kiss, Die’s libido took over; he kissed back lips were smooth against his own –not as smooth as Kaoru’s- but his thoughts had shut down already.
Shinya was in heaven, his conscious had pointed out that Die liked Kaoru but the small devilish part of his brain said that Die could never have gotten Kaoru on his own already so there was no harm done. But Kaoru likes Die back good Shinya called back, leave them alone, ‘And I like Die too, I want something for myself’ Shinya almost sighed contentedly into the kiss. It was as good as it was in his fantasies, Die’s lips were so perfect and he leaded the kiss so wonderfully, Shinya was ecstatic.
Then there was a loud gasp to the left of where they stood, Shinya broke the kiss sadly, his face burning at the same time; thoughts of little old ladies catching him kissing Die like this running though his head. His inner sadist smirked and asked him why he wasn’t giving them a show, Shinya tried to get another kiss, but arm went slack around him, a shocked voice resonating from the man he was pressed against.
“K-Kaoru?” Die asked, there was no question of the identity, but it needed to be said. Kaoru stood there in the clearing, his light pink hair glowing softly, his face shocked and hurt. He looked so beautiful standing there, the moon shading him perfectly, even the sad and angry expression on his face was beautiful.
“I can’t believe you Daisuke,” Die winced when his name was spoken with such venom, he wanted to call out but Kaoru was shaking; his face lowering.
“Kaoru!” Die called; finding his voice; no this wasn’t how it was supposed to happen! He wanted to struggle.
At the sound of his voice Kaoru look up, small tears pouring down his face,
“I...I,” Kaoru shook his head; he turned and fled; his feet leading him away from that sight. Running and crying he fled; fled into the night away from Die and away from the cracking sensation in his heart.
“Kaoru!” Die called trying to case after the man, he was panicking; this wasn’t supposed to happen, he needed Kaoru. He needed to find him and explain that he couldn’t help himself; he couldn’t stop it, he needed to beg for forgiveness. Maybe it was the way that Kaoru had said his name when they made love maybe it was the hurt look in deep eyes but Die had fallen hard and he now he felt awful.
“Die!” Shinya called, the other’s movements had knocked him over; the leashed still around them Shinya and Die fell together in a heap.
“Kaoru?” Toshiya asked himself, he had the sinking feeling that something had gone wrong; something had gone terribly wrong…
